A big Babble welcome to presenter, commentator and journalist Laura Woods, who joins our awesome roster of voiceover artists. We’re delighted to welcome Laura to Team Babble, and we think you’re going to love her too.
Laura’s fast becoming one of the UK’s leading female sports broadcasters. Having completed a BA Hons in print journalism at Kingston University, Laura joined Sky Sports as a runner in 2009 after a stint of work experience and worked her way up to producer.
She then began reporting on various different sports including the NFL International Series Wembley and Sky Sports first ever children’s TV Show Game.
Laura then joined Soccer AM’s first ever Youtube channel as a presenter alongside Adam Smith working with numerous Premier League footballers, traveling around France for the duration of the 2016 European Championships and presenting their own football show Carling In Off the Bar.
You can see Laura every Sunday lunchtime on Sky Sports’ where she anchors their Premier League output on the 1.30pm game on Super Sunday. On a Monday, she hosts the popular ‘Debate’ show on Sky Sports where along with two ex-players they tackle the leading football stories from around the world.
If radio is more your thing you can catch Laura every Saturday evening anchoring the live Premier League game on talkSPORT and then hosting the Full-Time Phone-in, right after the final whistle. She has her own show on a Friday night, The Season Ticket with Danny Kelly and you’ll hear her pop up a couple of times a week on the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast.
An avid Arsenal fan from a young age she lists her heroes as David Seamen and oddly Ray Parlour, despite there being plenty of other iconic players to choose from so working with them both on talkSPORT is frankly, a dream come true.
She’s got some brand spanking new reels, so take a listen – natural and down to earth with a neutral London accent, her tone is fresh and slightly husky. She’s excellent in the studio and takes direction like a dream.
